I really love the drusys. They are perfectly formed and sparkle like crazy when the light hits them. This drusy quartz from Scotland is becoming rarer as the places I pick become picked by others. In this case I am a victim of my own success.

This Scottish crystal came from down in the lowland hills. This beautiful area of Dumfries and Galloway is where my mum's clan originate. They settled the area in the 10 hundreds and would later become the sheriffs of ayr. The landscape in the south is part rolling hills, part craggy, windy, exposed land. The highest village in Scotland actually lies in the southern uplands, not in the Scottish Highlands.

It's just a rock, but it couldn't come from a cooler place.

This is a great Scottish quartz mineral sample. It has some defined points and a little crushing which seems to make it sparkle more. At 64g it is a medium sized crystal.
