Scottish amethyst is reasonably hard to come by. You have to climb at least one hill to find it but sometimes more than one. It takes an hour or two to locate the source of the Scottish amethyst and then another hour to bring it down the hill. Let's not forget all the digging and the two plus hours of travel either direction.

So we don't go down and collect it often. Best piece of Scottish amethyst came from a trip we made an October of 2022. We are onto the drags of what we had left from that trip. We will be down again soon it is just a case of finding reliable transport.

Anyway, this gorgeous piece of Scottish amethyst is white and purple. It is characteristically pale as much of the Scottish amethyst as that we have found so far. This amethyst crystal is somewhere between a druzy and a crystal cluster.
