This piece of quartz crystal could be called an agate due to the layered lines within it. These lines include a solid white calcite line, at least one line of quartz, and multiple layers of chalcedony and Jasper.

At first I thought this was a seam rock within basalt, but upon closer inspection I can see that the chalcedony runs all the way through. It is the rectangular formation of this crystal chunk which indicates that it may be a seam agate.

This quartz piece came from the waterways of South Ayrshire and was collected in early 2025. We polished it ourselves at home in the rock Tumbler.
