This material for lapidary work is new to the Stone Circle shop. We picked it up from the River Clyde recently, having found smaller pieces ready to go in the rock tumbler previously.
We have two big chunks of this material and this is the largest. It is a nice burnt red or orange colour with lighter orange "spots". Jasper is sometimes called the spotted stone and this Scottish jasper really exemplifies that point.
Collected in September 2024, this Scottish mineral specimen would be ideal for further lapidary work. If you are searching for jasper for your rock tumbler, we recommend this material. It will need broken up but that's the fun part.
