This is the largest chunk of Scottish smokey quartz crystal chunks that we have in our possession. There is only one other piece that weighs a similar amount but it doesn't have the beautiful dark patches that this one does.
This smoky quartz is from the Perthshire mountains in the Southern Scottish Highlands. We find these around the waterways this was a loose stone - we wouldn't chip anything out. The mica schist up north represents some of the oldest rocks on the planet. And it also produces these boulders, eroded out over time.
This is a huge boulder of smoky quartz from Scotland. It's not true Cairngorm stone as it's been a couple of years since we explored that area now. But it is as close as you will get in terms of Scottish Smoky.
Collected in 2021 and has been hanging from my ceiling in a macrame holder for years. I'll chuck in the holder if you like but it is handmade and one of my first attempts. Please don't expect greatness 😅
