This fossil is part of an old sea bed, dating back around 330 million years. That's about a hundred million years before dinosaurs walked on Skye.
This fossilized coral sea bed is through in East Lothian, where you will find multiple similar pieces if you know where to look. We find similar material in Ayrshire and in South Lanarkshire, all dating to around the same time.
