The gorgeous piece of quartz has come from the Southern Uplands of Scotland, down in Dumfries and Galloway. We regularly return to this area on rock hunts since it produces beautiful quartz and calcite mineral specimens just like this one.
This piece of crystal features quartz clustered around a piece of host rock. On top of the quartz you can see a defined set of calcite crystals. There may be other minerals mixed in to this British rock.
This piece of sparkling quartz cluster or Druzy came from a 2024 trip and has only just been cleaned up. Some folks clean their rocks as soon as they get home. Others put them in a bucket for later... 👀
